Transparency to Freight Costs through eSourcing

Posted by Teresa Yost on Jun 9, 2016 8:10:00 AM

We truly enjoy the partnerships we’ve built with our clients.  It’s through these relationships that we learn about the day to day challenges our users face.  Periodically their pain is our gain - meaning that sometimes we’re able to assist by developing additional functionality to further assist them in their procurement duties.

A friendly interview

Let me introduce you to Jeff Abramson.  Jeff oversees supply chain and purchasing for a chain of barbecue restaurants owned, operated and franchised throughout the U.S. states and Canada.  His company has been an Intesource partner since December 2013.

Late last year Intesource received a request from Jeff asking Intesource to assist him and his team in automating their manual process for gathering freight charges offered by their suppliers.  Their current process was cumbersome and time consuming.

Procurement Technology: Providing a 21st Century User Experience

Posted by Kelly Deacon on Mar 10, 2016 8:10:00 AM

Facilitating successful user adoption is typically top of mind for CPOs -- if a procurement solution isn’t fully adopted by the everyday users, it can’t do its job and the program won’t be completely effective. Procurement leaders are tasked with finding ways to sustain the hype and excitement of adopting a new platform and ensuring the team is fully equipped to use it effectively and buy on-contract.

Intesource’s parent company, PROACTIS, recently announced the addition of Amazon Business to its On-Demand content. This new integration gives procurement teams the ability to purchase goods from Amazon Business through PROACTIS’ purchase-to-pay platform while giving them the convenience of automated approvals, full electronic invoicing and line item detail on financial reports. The integration with Amazon, a platform that everyone is familiar with, is a great example of how organizations can give teams an intuitive, 21st-century user experience to facilitate faster adoption and better efficiency.

“The value of an idea lies in the using of it.” –Thomas Edison

Ever wonder what happens to your enhancements once they are submitted to Intesource? Or how your idea grows from a mere seed into sequoia - or maybe just a normal sized pine tree, or cactus....

Technology is constantly being modified because of innovation and evolution to stay compatible with reliant or supportive technologies - all intertwined in this crazy large matrix of 1s and 0s.

Impact and reach are key variables that are considered when moving an enhancement request into development (bringing to life). To give you an example of the impact an idea/product enhancement can have, I’ll use iOS (Apple’s mobile operating system):

Soon after updating to a new release of the iPhone operating system (OS), the app store icon floods with update notifications (Amazon, Yelp, Facebook, Chrome, Instagram, Southwest Airlines, your mobile banking application, etc.). Which, if you are like me, must be handled immediately to clear said red alert notification from view. Point being – one update/enhancement impacts various other applications – which in turn released their own update – to ensure compatibility and provide the best user experience for the consumer.
